The QUEST consortium supported by a Horizon Europe Twinning project is pleased to announce its next Summer School focusing on non-conventional quantum computing approaches. Building on the success of our previous gathering in Espoo, Finland, this workshop explores the boundaries of current quantum technology, with a specific focus on Measurement-Based Computing, Quantum Machine Learning and Quantum Reservoir Computing.

Overview
Quantum computing and its hardware implementation are undergoing rapid development, offering potential for transformative technology. While standard gate-based models are prevalent, relatively new paradigms like Quantum Reservoir Computing (QRC) and Measurement-Based Quantum Computing (MBQC) have emerged in recent years.
QRC leverage the inherent dynamics of quantum systems, using disorder and noise as a resource rather than a hindrance, to perform nonlinear transformation of input data and carry out computations this way. MBQC is a paradigm where computation proceeds through a sequence of adaptive single-qubit measurements performed on a highly entangled initial resource state, such as a cluster state, effectively replacing the need for complex multi-qubit gate sequences. The workshop provides researchers with a comprehensive look at how these alternative frameworks complement current Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum (NISQ) computing.
